Mission Statement

"The mission of Children’s Ministry is to provide programs that enable children to feel good about who they are, develop a sense of Christ’s hope within themselves, and a sense of mission to bring this hope to their communities, family, school and church."

Registration Information

    Faith Formation Registration Form

 This form can be filled out online and printed or printed and filled out by hand.

 

Sunday School
This program is designed for children three years old through Kindergarten.
Three year olds must be three before Sept 1 of the year enrolled and toilet trained.

      When: Sunday mornings September
      through April during the 9:30 a.m. Mass.

      Where: School.

Sunday School Religious Ed PreSchool through Kindergarten Schedule

Grapevine (Grades 1-5)
Religious education instruction for children in grades one through five.

      When: Monday evenings September

      through April 6:00-8:00 p.m.

      Where: Church, School and Activity Center.

Sacramental Classes
Provides an opportunity for second through fifth grade students and parents to prepare for Reconciliation and First Eucharist.


      When: Monday evenings September
      through April, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

      Where: Church, School and Activity Center

      First Eucharist—May

Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Provides an opportunity for first and second graders to explore the Sunday Gospel on their own level. The Presider of the Mass invites children to gather for a special blessing at the ambo following the
Opening Prayer. The children’s minister leads them to the Holy Family Chapel where they can hear and reflect on the Word. The children rejoin the rest of the community after the Creed, and continue the celebration of the Eucharist with their families. Volunteers are vital to making this ministry available.

      When: During the Sunday 9:30 am Mass, September through May

Sunday School Calendar 2007-2008

Children’s Catechumenate
A program to guide unbaptized children age 7 through 5th grade through the Rite of Christian Initiation.

      When: Monday evenings September
      through April, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

      Where: Church, School and Activity Center

Celebration:
      Holy Saturday

Children’s Choir
This ministry of music for students in grades 2 through 6 provides music at the Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass once a month and a concert for the Parish each spring. The children are also involved in a Chorister’s Guild Festival with other churches in the Puget Sound area.

      When: Rehearsals - Thursdays 6:00-7:15 pm

      Where: Church

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are needed in all facets of Religious Education here at Saint Vincent’s.

— Instruct or assist in classrooms for Sunday School, Grapevine/Sacramental Classes

— Help prepare and serve food for Family Dinner Nights

— Help with the “St. Vinnie” store

— Be a “game dad” for Grapevine

— Prepare crafts for Sunday School or Sacramental Classes
