Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process for bringing
people into full membership of the Catholic Church while introducing them
to the teachings of the church (catechesis), how we worship, the life of
faith in the St. Vincent’s larger community and the importance of charity
and social justice
This program is designed for adults who are interested in learning about
the history, traditions, practices, and beliefs of the Roman Catholic
Faith. The emphasis of this program is on initiation into the sacramental
life of the Catholic Church.
Those not baptized receive the Sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation, and the
Eucharist. Those baptized in another Christian denomination receive the
sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. Some are baptized, while those
who are already baptized in another Christian denomination make a
Profession of Faith. These sessions are also attended by baptized
Catholics
who are adults and have not yet been confirmed or those who wish
to learn more about their faith. Registration is in the Fall through the
Parish Office.

Sacrament of Matrimony
The celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony is one of the great moments
of joy for parish families. To appreciate this special vocation, we expect
those who are planning to marry here to be part of our marriage
preparation program. To insure that proper preparation may be made,
engaged couples must arrange for pre-marriage instruction at least six
month prior to the wedding date. Date and classes fill early. The first
step is to make an appointment with one of our parish priests.
For further information, please contact: Robin LaMoria, Family Ministry
Office 253-839-4333.
Anointing of the Sick
The Sacrament of Anointing is provided by the Church for those whose
health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age. Anyone who is
seriously ill is eligible. In cases of old age, almost any illness takes
on a serious nature. A person may also receive the sacrament prior to a
serious operation.
For further information, please contact: The Parish Office, 253-839-2320.
Viaticum (Last Rites)
Viaticum is the last Sacrament of the Christian life, and is celebrated
when death is near. In this case the sacrament of the sick encompasses a
broader ceremony which includes Confession, Anointing, Viaticum (last
Communion—food for the homeward journey) and a blessing.

Funerals
Please contact the Parish Office when you need to arrange for a funeral or
Memorial Mass.
