About Us

Mothers & Others is a peer support ministry at Saint Vincent de Paul Parish.  We meet once a week to provide mutual support and enrichment for parents and guardians.

The group was formed in the Fall of 1990 by a group, primarily made of mothers, who were interested in finding support within our own parish community.  When the group began, there was an over whelming voice that the group be for mothers to have time to share with other parents while their children stay in our provided childcare.

When & Where We Meet

Mothers & Others meets from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every Thursday morning from September through May in the Willenborg Center Living Room at St. Vincent de Paul.  The parish is located at 30525 - 8th Avenue South in Federal Way, WA 98003.  We offer childcare during this time for our members to attend the meetings.  We meet occasionally during the summer for various fun events with our kids and have at least one evening social without the kids. When creating our meeting calendar we try to balance the topics between Spiritual, Social, Educational, and Service programs.  Our meetings are informative, educational, and fun.  Look for our meeting schedule in the parish bulletin or stop by the parish office for a list of our upcoming meetings.

Childcare

The parish nurseries, during Mothers & Others meetings, are only available to member's children.  Member's children can be brought to the nurseries between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.  The nurseries close at 11:45 a.m.

The childcare facility for infants and children up to 3 and 1/2 years is in the Church Nursery.  Infants are always welcome at our meetings.

The cost is $3.00 per child or $7.00 maximum per family.  You may pay childcare fees at the Mothers & Others meeting.  For insurance reasons, we cannot allow children in the nursery who's mom is not attending a Mothers & Others meeting.

The childcare fees being waived for families with financial hardships. Please come and join us anyway if you can't afford to pay or forget to bring money.
